Re: Fiji - Travel Guides and Tricks
Paris Couture Week wouldn’t be the same without a bit, no, A LOT of glamour and super pretty dresses. House of Worth only had nine pieces in their collection for Couture A/W ‘11, but coach factory outlet they were stunning. Giovanni Bedin has been creative director of the historic fashion house since last year. He has created a modern, sharp collection with a futuristic touch. His short tutu shaped dresses are fun and flirty, whilst the longer gowns add more drama. The strength of louis vuitton outlet the collection was in its use of shape and construction, basket weave fabric, 3D bows and flowers, layers of individual fabric pieces created texture. A coat had a scaled effect with layers of fabric coach outlet store online crescents. The models wore high stilettos, described by the designer as ‘corsets for the leg’.You can’t get much more fairytale than Elie Saab designs. The Lebanese designer is famed for his show-stopping red carpet creations and this season was no different. The look was soft and delicate with a nude, white and ice blue colour palette. The show opened with a short, chiffon, icy silver dress covered in shimmering beads and small flowers which look like they belong on a wedding cake. Thus continued the theme of see-through chiffon and shimmering embellishment on gently draping ethereal gowns. Dresses came in both long and short varieties with wrap over styles, high necks, spaghetti straps and slashed necklines. A beautiful, sparkling wedding gown closed the show, complete with long, luscious veil.

Valentino too, went for a fairytale theme with designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccicli embracing a romantic, almost medieval look. Models looked prime and polished with hair tied back into a ballet style bun and accessorised with headbands. Black, white, nude, red and silver dominated the coach outlet colour palette. A brocade coat shimmers coach outlet store online with a tarnished silver hue, whilst a cowl neck, floor length red gown adds instant glamour. Cord trims and tiny, covered buttons and key features of the medieval aesthetic. Net skirts add texture, and when trousers are seen they are high waisted and billowing with drawn cheap coach handbags in ankles. Printed chiffon creates a softer, more ethereal look and concertina folded chiffon adds drama. Freja Beha Erichsen closed coach outlet online the show is a stunning embroidered chiffon, gold and nude gown.Despite only a handful of people being able to afford haute couture, the rest of us can at least derive some pleasure from admiring it. Paris Haute Couture A/W 2011 did not disappoint and provided plenty of moments of pure lust*sigh*. The couture shows loosely fall into two camps, the OTT but curiously beautiful collections that could easily pass for a piece of theatre, and the more wearable collections for the super rich to build their wardrobes. The theatrical shows allow the designers to sketch without limits; they can create whatever their imagination can conjure up and sit back and watch as the fashion press goes crazy. One of those shows this year (and every year for that matter) was Christian Dior.

It was the first Christian Dior louis vuitton purses couture show not overseen by John Galliano, with his successor Bill Gaytten taking a bow at the finale. Fashion commentators expressed disappointment with the collection, but if it were perfect poor Gaytten would have nowhere to go but down. The collection regained control of Dior’s signature look of bustier dresses and full skirts, with a doll-like theme. Unusually for a winter collection, pastel colours dominated a third of the show and there was a striking lack of fur.It started with lots of prints, layering and colour, all thrown together like toys in a child’s playroom. Chunky sequins cut into squares or half moons were layered to create texture. Concertina pleats featured heavily in white and candy colours. More wearable dresses included long tube dresses in burnt orange, jade and brown prints with sequin embellishments, blue and turquoise dresses resembled the ocean with their flowing shapes. The show ended true to Dior’s roots with theatrical ball gowns and themed headpieces. A princess-perfect pure white gown is accessorised with a crescent moon headpiece, gently framing the models face, whilst a clown’s hat and collar accessorise another.
